These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and AIVIATION LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("AIVIATION," "we," "us"), governing your use of the RegBrief iOS application and the regbrief.app website (together, the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Acceptance and Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the App.
If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must read and accept these Terms on your behalf before you use the App. That parent or guardian is the contracting party under these Terms, is responsible for your use of the App, and agrees to be bound by these Terms. All purchases must be made by an adult.
By using the App you represent that you meet these requirements and that you are not barred from using the App under the laws of the United States or your state of residence.
2. License Grant
AIVIATION LLC grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to use the App for your own personal, non-commercial reference purposes on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any part of it at any time. We have no obligation to provide support or maintenance beyond what we choose to offer.
3. AI Features Disclaimer
Plus and Pro subscribers may access AI-powered features (summaries, explanations) using on-device Apple Foundation Models. Pro subscribers may additionally use cloud-based AI Q&A, which transmits question text to AIVIATION servers. AI-generated content from either source may contain errors or misinterpretations of regulations. This content is for study purposes only and does not constitute official FAA interpretation. Always verify with official FAA sources before making any operational decisions.
4. Subscription Terms
Tiers and pricing (USD; may vary by region):
- Free — Full regulation text, full-text keyword search, study-by-certificate filtering, and reading history. No subscription required and no account needed. Bookmarks created in earlier releases of RegBrief remain readable and removable on the Free tier; creating new bookmarks requires Plus or Pro.
- Plus — $2.99/month or $19.99/year. Includes bookmarks, highlights, notes, regulation change tracking with visual diffs, export, custom study collections, and on-device Apple Intelligence features on supported hardware.
- Pro — $5.99/month or $39.99/year. Everything in Plus, plus a cloud-based AI Q&A service powered by AIVIATION servers. Pro works on any iOS 18+ device.
Internet connection: The App is distributed without its regulation content database and downloads it from our servers the first time you launch the App. It also checks for and downloads content updates, and it loads AIM figures on demand. An internet connection is therefore required for first-time setup, for content updates, and for AIM figures, in addition to the Pro cloud AI Q&A feature. Once the content database is on your device, reading, searching, and browsing work offline.
Free trial: A 14-day free trial is available to first-time subscribers on the annual plan of either Plus or Pro. The monthly plans do not include a free trial. Trial eligibility is determined by Apple; if you are not eligible, the App will present the plan without a trial. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid annual subscription at the annual price listed above. Any unused portion of the trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The renewal price is the same as the initial subscription price.
Billing: Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
Managing and canceling subscriptions: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iOS Settings: Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access to paid features until that date.
Price changes: If we change the price of a subscription, the change applies to renewals occurring after Apple has given you notice and obtained any consent Apple requires. You may cancel before the change takes effect.
Refunds: Processed by Apple. Contact Apple Support through your App Store purchase history.
5. Intellectual Property
Federal regulations (14 CFR, 49 CFR) and the Aeronautical Information Manual are U.S. government publications in the public domain. AIVIATION LLC claims no copyright in the underlying regulatory text. The app's UI, search functionality, data compilation, AI features, and branding are © 2026 AIVIATION LLC. "RegBrief" and "AIVIATION" are trademarks of AIVIATION LLC. All rights not expressly granted in Section 2 are reserved.
6. Prohibited Uses
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the app, except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by applicable law
- Citing app content as official FAA guidance in enforcement proceedings
- Distributing, reselling, renting, leasing, or sublicensing access
- Scraping, bulk-downloading, or systematically extracting the app's content or the responses of its AI features, including to build a competing product or to train a machine-learning model
- Interfering with, overloading, or attempting to gain unauthorized access to the app or our servers
- Using the app for any unlawful purpose
7. Feedback
If you send us feedback, suggestions, bug reports, or ideas about the App, you grant AIVIATION a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, non-exclusive, fully paid, royalty-free license to use them for any purpose, without attribution or compensation. Please do not send us anything you consider confidential or proprietary.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy describes what information the App collects, how we use it, how long we keep it, who receives it, and the choices and rights you have. It is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the App you acknowledge that you have read it. If these Terms and the Privacy Policy conflict on any question about the collection, use, retention, or disclosure of your information, the Privacy Policy controls.
9. Third-Party Services, Other Users, and Release
Third-party services. The App links to and relies on services operated by others, including Apple, Amazon Web Services, the FAA, and the Government Publishing Office's eCFR. We do not control them, do not endorse them, and are not responsible for them. Your use of a third-party service is at your own risk and is governed by that party's own terms and privacy practices. You agree to comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the App.
Other users. Your interactions with any other user of the App are solely between you and that person. We are not responsible for any loss or harm arising from those interactions.
Release. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release AIVIATION LLC and its members, officers, employees, and agents from all claims, demands, and damages arising out of or related to third-party services and to your interactions with other users. If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code Section 1542, which provides: "A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party." This release does not extend to claims arising out of AIVIATION's own conduct, and nothing in it waives any right you have that cannot be waived under applicable law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless AIVIATION LLC and its members, officers, employees, and agents from and against any third-party claim, and any resulting damages, losses, and reasonable costs and attorneys' fees, arising out of (i) your use of the App, (ii) your breach of these Terms, or (iii) your violation of any law or of the rights of a third party. We will notify you promptly of any claim we become aware of, and we may assume sole control of the defense and settlement of the claim at your expense, in which case you agree to cooperate. You may not settle any claim in a way that imposes an obligation on AIVIATION without our prior written consent. This Section does not apply to a claim caused by AIVIATION's own conduct, and it does not require you to indemnify us for our own negligence or willful misconduct.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, AIVIATION LLC AND ITS SUPPLIERS DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, AND STATUTORY, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR QUIET ENJOYMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL CODE.
REGULATORY CONTENT MAY BE OUTDATED OR CONTAIN ERRORS. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP REFLECTS CURRENT FAA REGULATIONS. AI-GENERATED CONTENT MAY BE INCORRECT.
Some states do not allow the exclusion of certain implied warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you. In that case, any implied warranty that cannot be disclaimed is limited in duration to the shortest period permitted by that state's law.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW: (A) AIVIATION LLC AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, COST OF SUBSTITUTE PRODUCTS, OR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE APP; AND (B) OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (i) $50 USD AND (ii) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID AIVIATION FOR THE APP IN THE SIX MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. THE EXISTENCE OF MORE THAN ONE CLAIM DOES NOT INCREASE THIS LIMIT.
These limits apply regardless of the theory of liability and even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, gross negligence, or willful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
13. Term, Termination, and Survival
These Terms apply from the first time you use the App and remain in effect until terminated. You may terminate at any time by deleting the App; deleting the App does not by itself cancel a subscription, which you cancel through Apple as described in Section 4.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App, or to a feature of it, if you materially breach these Terms, if we reasonably believe your use creates a legal or security risk, or if we discontinue the App. Where practical and lawful, we will give you notice first. If we terminate your access without cause while you hold a paid subscription, you may request a refund of the unused portion through Apple.
Sections 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17 survive termination.
14. Apple-Specific Terms
This Section applies to your use of the App obtained through Apple's App Store. If it conflicts with another provision of these Terms, this Section controls as to the subject matter of the conflict.
- Acknowledgement. These Terms are between you and AIVIATION LLC only, not with Apple. AIVIATION, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
- Scope of license. The license granted in Section 2 is limited to a non-transferable license to use the App on any Apple-branded product that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the App may be accessed by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
- Maintenance and support. AIVIATION is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the App. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support.
- Warranty. AIVIATION is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App.
- Product claims. AIVIATION, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to the App or your possession or use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that the App fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and any claim arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
- Intellectual property rights. If a third party claims that the App or your possession and use of it infringes that party's intellectual property rights, AIVIATION, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of that claim.
- Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Developer name and address. AIVIATION LLC, c/o Northwest Registered Agent, 7901 4th Street North, Suite 300, St. Petersburg, FL 33702. Questions, complaints, and claims about the App may be directed to support@aiviation.dev or to telephone 316-302-5551.
- Third-party terms. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the App.
- Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
15. State-Specific Notices
This Section applies to you only to the extent you are subject to the law of the state identified. Where a provision in this Section conflicts with another provision of these Terms, this Section controls for users subject to that state's law.
California — consumer rights notice (Civ. Code § 1789.3). The provider of this service is AIVIATION LLC, c/o Northwest Registered Agent, 7901 4th Street North, Suite 300, St. Petersburg, FL 33702, telephone 316-302-5551. Charges for the service are the subscription and in-app purchase prices displayed in the App before purchase. To resolve a complaint or obtain further information, write to us at the address above or email support@aiviation.dev.
California — Complaint Assistance Unit. You may also contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services, California Department of Consumer Affairs, 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, telephone (800) 952-5210.
Nevada. Nevada residents may direct a covered operator not to sell certain personal information. AIVIATION does not sell personal information. Our designated request address under NRS Chapter 603A is privacy@aiviation.dev.
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have rights over their personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, and appeal. Those rights, and how to exercise them, are described in our Privacy Policy.
16. General
16.1 Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms. Updated Terms will be posted here with a new effective date, and material changes will be made prominent in the App or on this site before they take effect. Continued use after the new effective date constitutes acceptance.
16.2 Governing law and venue. These Terms and any dispute arising out of them or the App are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You and AIVIATION consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Florida. Notwithstanding the foregoing: (a) either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief to protect its intellectual property in any court of competent jurisdiction; (b) either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court; and (c) nothing in these Terms requires a California resident to resolve a controversy arising in California outside California, or under the law of a state other than California, and nothing in these Terms deprives you of any non-waivable protection of the consumer-protection law of your state of residence.
16.3 Export controls. You agree not to export, re-export, or transfer the App or any technical data obtained from it in violation of U.S. export control laws or other applicable regulations.
16.4 Electronic communications and notices. The App has no accounts and we hold no email address for you, so we cannot email you. You therefore agree that notices we post in the App or on regbrief.app satisfy any legal requirement that a notice be in writing, and that they have the same effect as a notice delivered by mail or email. Check the App and this site for notices. You may give us notice by email to support@aiviation.dev.
16.5 Accessibility. AIVIATION is committed to making the App usable by everyone, including people with disabilities, and we endeavor to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. If you have difficulty using any part of the App, or a suggestion for improving it, contact support@aiviation.dev and we will make reasonable efforts to help.
16.6 Entire agreement; severability; no waiver; assignment. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and AIVIATION about the App and supersede any prior agreement on that subject. If a provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or, if it cannot be, severed, and the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. "Including" means "including without limitation." You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms bind permitted assignees.
